On November 13, 2025, the seminar “Aufstockung neu gedacht – leichter schneller, nachhaltiger” took place at the Baukunstarchiv NRW in Dortmund. In his keynote presentation “Schneller bauen, besser denken – Was der Ingenieurbau von industriellen Prozessen lernen kann,” Dr. Patrick Forman presented current research developments in automated and modular construction aimed at achieving both speed and sustainability. In further presentations by experts in practice, a wide range of solutions for creating new living and working space through vertical extensions, in other words, using resources as efficiently as possible and without occupying additional land., were presented. We would like to thank everyone involved for a successful event and for the valuable exchange on sustainable construction.
