The Institute of Concrete Construction has offered the new additional course "Experimental Beam" for particularly interested students in the winter semester 2022/23.
The aim of the course is to teach students of civil engineering (Bachelor's and Master's degree programs) a better understanding of the bending and shear force failure of reinforced concrete beams, but also to further inspire them for scientific work. First, a reinforced concrete beam was designed and structurally analyzed. This was followed by the production and execution of the tests to determine the bending and shear load-bearing capacity in the test hall. Finally, the test results were analyzed and interpreted.
